If you have a spare million dollars to drop, Paul Wyatt Designs has some absolutely stunning designs for custom wine cellars. (Thanks to Liz for the link!)

Thank you for the comments. That cellar was my first production multilevel design, completed in about 1985 in San Francisco.

Regrettably the link that you gave points to a copy of my original site put up by a group in Idaho who use my photographs, my name, and my reputation to get business for themselves.

I am amusing myself by taking photographs of their pitiful designs and shoddy workmanship so that I can use them in my book about wine cellar design.

The Modern Marvels segment about wine on the History Channel in November showed one of my recent cellars in Los Gatos.

When you add up the cost of construction, and wine, the difference in overall budget using cheap and nasty or expensive and nasty racks, versus getting a properly designed and executed cellar is minimal and my cellars will last for generations.
